Carroll County students have an opportunity to earn career pathways at their home schools, at our College and Career Academies (North CCA and South CCA), and dual enrollment opportunities through WGTC and UWG. Whatever your plan after graduation - Enrolled, Enlisted, Employed, our College and Career program will get you engaged and ready for whatever the future holds.

The Georgia Department of Education has developed a variety of career pathways in an effort to maximize student awareness and opportunities in career fields and to prepare students for the workforce and postsecondary education. The career pathway outlines the sequence of courses students should take to prepare them for careers in defined areas of interest. Pathways encompass both secondary and postsecondary education and will strengthen and improve student transition. ALL students should plan to complete a pathway during high school to ensure college and career readiness.

Our college and career academies combine classroom instruction with real-world, hands-on experiences that give students a look at advanced technical careers as well as bridge the gap between high school and post secondary organizations. All students, grades 9-12 are encouraged to attend the CCA. From welder to doctor, we offer experience and prepare you for the next step of your future.

- Students must be in the 11th or 12th grade (exceptions may be made for 10th graders as applicable).
- Students must have earned previous credit of at least one unit in a related CTAE pathway or core class.
- The job placement must be a paid or non-paid job position.
- Students may earn one or more units within one year (varies by placement).
- Students will receive a training agreement and/or Individual Career Plan.
- Students will be assigned a mentor and/or supervisor by the job placement.
Students who are terminated from employment or released from their internship during a work study program will be given two weeks to secure another position of employment. After two weeks, students who do not secure employment in their field of work study will receive a failing grade for the work portion of the work-based learning and/or internship program.
