Carrizo Springs CSCISD 2019 Parade
Hello Wildcat Fans! The 2019 Dimmit County Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2019. Mark your calendars for an exciting weekend beginning with the Senior Tailgate, Friday night’s game with Devine, Saturday’s parade at 11:00 a.m. and homecoming reunions!
As the host of the homecoming parade, CSCISD wants to provide fun, safe and memorable events for the community. Due to safety measures to keep our children safe, this year candy will only be allowed to be handed to parade spectators by entry participants walking alongside their floats. No candy may be thrown from the actual floats. In addition, please be aware that alcoholic beverages are banned in and around the parade. The Dimmit County Sheriff’s Department will be enforcing the “Open Container Law” prohibiting open containers with alcohol. CSCISD asks that these parade rules be supported by all to keep our children’s safety a top priority.
Entry forms will be provided through Friday, October 25th via the local newspapers and the school district website. (Look for 2019 Homecoming link). You may also contact the Business Office at 830-876-3869. Entry forms will also be available at the CSCISD Supt’s Office at 830-876-2473. We encourage different types of parade entries including clowns, floats, tractors, golf carts, wagons, horses, motorcycles, etc.
CSCISD will work closely with TXDOT, Dimmit County Sheriff’s Dept., City of Carrizo Springs and local entities to promote safe homecoming activities/routes.
We invite our local and area oil field companies to continue supporting our Wildcats by participating in our parade.
The homecoming events will include a local business decorating contest. The following categories will be awarded:
Most Traditional Most Decorative Most Creative
Most Wildcat Spirit Purple and Gold Award
All winners will receive a trophy, newspaper announcement and “bragging rights”, but best of all the recognition of supporting our Fighting Wildcats and community. The local businesses are asked to help support our Wildcats by participating in the decorating contest. Please contact the Business Office at 830-876-3869 if your place of business plans to participate. Judging will take place on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
