Remote Learning at Carolina Charter Academy
What does remote learning look like at CCA?
In light of this extended closure, Carolina Charter Academy teachers and staff have worked to create remote learning plans to continue the education of students from home. Effective online learning requires a teacher to facilitate and engage with students in a manner that is very different from face-to-face learning. There is not a one size fits all solution that will work for every family, and we intend to continually re-evaluate our plans at the direction of DPI and to meet the needs of our learning community. See our full Remote Learning Plan here.
- Teachers are providing calendars of work two weeks at a time to guide learning at home
- Teachers are providing virtual instruction by posting daily videos through Dojo or Google Classroom
- Parents are asked to check in with teachers at least two times a week through Dojo portfolio
- Students use Singapore Math and Core Knowledge materials during instruction at home
When schools are closed, we cannot ensure all students have an adult at home to support their learning. We only ask that families do their best, and we plan to do the same. Teachers may not grade assignments completed during remote learning, however checking student work progress is important to provide feedback.
Please contact your child's teacher for the most current work plan, or if you have questions about work sent home.
