Meet Mrs. Espeleta
Hi there. I've been a teacher and school counselor in the Carlsbad Unified School District for 29 years, all of which have been in middle school and I am so happy to be part of the Calavera family!
I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling, Counseling Credential, and Administrative Credential from National University. I earned a Single Subject Mathematics Credential from Point Loma Nazarene University and my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at UC San Diego.
I am married, have two grown children, and several grandkids. My hobbies include beach volleyball, running, paddleboarding, pickleball and anything outdoors and most weekends, you'll find me at the beach. I look forward to working with you throughout your middle school experience!

I am excited to have the privilege of working with your students in their Middle School Years. I’ve been a School Counselor since 2008 working in Elementary, Middle and High School! I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and my Masters Degree in School Counseling from Lewis University.
My family and I moved from Chicago, IL to beautiful Carlsbad in 2016. We love living and working in Carlsbad and love the community! In addition to being a School Counselor, I am a wife and a mother of 2 wonderful boys: Jackson, a 7th grader at Valley, and Ben, a 6th grader at Valley. We are constantly busy with sports- mostly baseball and football. In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends hiking, going to the beach and hopping around Carlsbad.
I look forward to being a positive part of your student's Middle School Experience!
