Music - Mrs. Monke and Mrs. Thomforde

week of April 13-17

Thomforde Family Live Concert Tonight! If any of you tried to tune in last night, you'll know that I didn't manage to get all of the technology up and running. Dr. Sidell will send out a new link to my YouTube Live concert for 7:00 p.m. tonight (4/17)! Tune in for Scottish tunes, Bach, and an eclectic mix of children's piano music!

Lesson 2:

Lullabies continued

Today, you are going to give your lullaby a touch of Native American style, by adding one or more Native American instrument sounds. Here is a list of Native American instrument sounds you might want to consider for your lullaby:

Native American flute (if you have a recorder at home, that is a good substitute!)

Quiet drumming (tabletops or furniture might make good sounds)

Shakers and rattles (put small objects, like dried beans or rice, in a plastic Easter egg or kitchen container)

Rain stick (click link below for directions on how to make one) https://drive.google.com/file/d/13a8TNY3X9d1lsbwuOSPZU2eacY3bpEy3/view?usp=sharing

These are the decisions you need to make:

-Which instrument (or instruments) to add to your composition. Please add at least one.

-Where in the composition to add it (introduction, ending, as an accompaniment during the song, or all three)

-Will it have a rhythm, or will it be general background sound?

If you can sing your song and play the instrument yourself, great! If not, you can try to recruit a parent or sibling to help you out. Have fun! I look forward to seeing and hearing your final videos/recordings!

Physical Education - Mrs. Carmel & Mr. Hunt

An activity has been placed in the Activities section of the Seesaw account, entitled "April 13-17 Grades K-4 Ball Skills - Striking, Rolling Skills and Kicking Skills." The activity will be used for both days your son/daughter has P.E. and is broken down to reflect what is expected each day.

Please email your child's PE teacher with any questions or concerns.

**An April vacation extension activity (April Activity Extensions) has been placed in the assignment section of Seesaw and can be accessed after 6 p.m. on Friday night for the coming week. Teachers will not be available via email over vacation and this is not mandatory, but instead is something for our students to enjoy if they (and their parents/guardians) choose.

French - Mrs. Rivier

Check Seesaw to see your weekly activity. This week you will review the French months.
