1946-1961: Termination and Relocation Era

This government dissolved Native nations. Some nations fought back, some got their status restored, while other nations are still fighting for their status restoration. At this time, Native people are considered general American citizens. As a consequence, there is no longer access to transitional funding, education, or other social welfare for Native people in need of state assistance.
