Parent Nominee to the Board

The Board of Management of a Voluntary Secondary School is charged with managing the school on behalf of the Trustees. The Board comprises eight members: four nominated by the Trustees, two elected by the parents and two elected by the teaching staff. The Board looks after policy regarding Enrolment, Finance, Employment, Pastoral Care, Behaviour, Teaching & Learning, Planning etc. The role of parents on the Board is vital and the election of parent nominees should be given serious consideration.

The form should be downloaded and a hard copy returned to the school office for the attention of the Secretary of the Board of Management by 24th November. All parents/legal guardians of a student enrolled for the year 2021/2022 are eligible to be nominated. Please ensure that any parent you are nominating is willing to serve on the Board for 1 year and undergo any training involved.

In the event that an election must take place, you will then be issued with a Ballot Paper of all nominees and asked to vote for your preferred choice.

Our HSCL also works closely with our Parents Association
