March 4th: Understanding Hundredths and Thousandths

We learned about decimals by playing Close to One during Megamath Rotations today!

March 3rd: San Francisco Public Transit Mapping

We are preparing for an upcoming adventure into San Francisco using public transit by diving deep into the Muni and Bart systems' complex maps.

February 24th: Pato Banton

Today we were treated to a concert by Pato Banton, a reggae artist who delivered positive messages such as the importance of ending bullying and the golden rule. Such fun!

February 11th: Presidio Native Plant Nursery

February 5th: SEL

Students acted out different ways that our hidden voices (both friendly and unfriendly) speak to us. We learned about how we have choices in which we listen to, and sometimes it can be tough to ignore the negative voices.

February 4th: National Park Educators

We had visitors from the Presidio Native Plant Nursery teaching us about plant adaptations, and restoration work that happens in the Bay Area. We look forward to seeing them again in the Presidio on February 11th!

January 10th: Fairy Tale Adaptation Publishing Party

January 8th: Book Tasting

We explored expository non-fiction, biographies, and narrative non-fiction in a book tasting at the Jumping Bean Cafe!

November 7th: San Francisco Explorers

This group explored the Mission District. Did you know that this hydrant saved most of the Mission from fires after the big 1906 earthquake? We learned so much about each neighborhood's unique history, culture, food, and fun!

November 8th: Happy Birthday Mrs. Alicia

We celebrated Ms. Alicia with a Patriots themed birthday shindig today. She was so surprised!

October 31st: Halloween

October 23rd: Arrays

We are using hands on manipulatives to figure out all the factors of a given number. We also learned what prime and square numbers are during this investigation!

October 17: Publishing Party

Thank you for the wonderful turn out at today's Crafting True Stories Publishing party! Our class was so proud of their hard work and we appreciate you helping to celebrate their books.

October 10th and 11th: Mysteries

We are launching our next reading unit... Mystery! Thank you to all the parents who shared their board game Clue with us. We had a blast trying to figure out who done it!

October 10th: Cheez-it Math

Did you know that a cheez-it is 1 square inch? Today in Mega-Math we explored the concepts of perimeter and area using cheez-its as our measuring tool. Math can be delicious!

October 8th: Final Drafts

Our class is hard at work writing final copies of their small moment stories. We hope to see you at our publishing party next Thursday morning!

September 30th: Rosh Hashanah

Ms. Antupit shared a book with our class today about Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish New Year. We learned about traditions, and Spee's family shared apples and honey with us for a sweet start to the year!

September 26: Climate March

Students took to the streets to inform our neighbors about the climate crisis.

September 25: Climate Action

Some students chose to skip recess to make signs for our climate protest tomorrow. Look out world, we've got a message for you!

September 17: SEL

Today in SEL we learned about the importance of communication and taking leadership using Tinkertoys! Students planned a project, and had to complete part without speaking or one handed. Teams that work together get more done!

September 16: Congratulations Ms. Alicia!

We showered Ms. Alicia with love today, giving her a book of marriage advice written by the 3rd grade, designing dresses, and of course a dance party! Thank you so much to our room parents who provided awesome decorations and yummy treats! (Watch the video for our conga line!) Also, as promised... tips for a happy marriage.

September 10th: Buddies!

We joined our Pre-K friends in their classroom to get to know each other and form bonds. Next time we meet, each student will have a buddy who they will stick with all year!

September 6th: Friday Assembly

Today we learned all about our school's waste disposal from the Green Team. Did you know we recycle markers?

September 5th: Reader's Workshop

We are learning how to treat books like gold, and how to choose just-right books. Having a great partner really helps!

September 4th: Social Studies

We started brainstorming what we see, think, and wonder about San Francisco.

Did you know Mr. Geer's softball team, the Cougars, made it to the Gay Men Softball world cup? We are so proud, so we sent him this message.
