Hackathon vs. Homelessness

8 am – 5 pm

Homelessness is a growing problem in the District of Columbia. This event will bring together interdisciplinary teams of students to hack homelessness solutions. Teams will have access to open source data provided by the D.C. Department of Human Services. At the beginning of the day, teams will be given a specific challenge to solve during the course of the Hackathon. A panel of experts from industry, government, and academia will judge the results and award prizes for the best solutions. Grand prize will be an Oculus Rift headset for each member of the winning team!


Teams are invited from all local and regional colleges and universities. Representation from a variety of majors is encouraged. Individual students are welcome to register; additional teams will be formed the day of the competition. Catholic University Students who register will also be considered as candidates to represent the University at the Vatican Hackathon, March 9–11, 2018.
