I. Introduction
The topic Creative Economics is an amalgamation of my interests (in the arts, literature, design and architecture) and studies (economics, psychology, history, law and technology).
The term creative economy had been around for sometimes and there are creative economies in other countries and in history that have become successful and world-renown as studies showed. The Philippines have a creative economy, long before the terminology of creative economy came about, but only recently with the new law, Republic Act No. 11904 or otherwise known as "The Philippine Creative Industries Development Act" that the country's creative economy can be studied as a social science concept and evolving research, hence, the necessity of Creative Economics to determine the growth and statistical trajectory with regards to the development of the creative economy.
Creative Economy is a new concept because aside from what was there in the past---the creativity, culture, economics and legal foundation---we now have technology that influences creativity and innovation, and taken together with creativity as the measure of economic value, the creative economy transformatively impacts the national economy and society as a whole.
The creative economy of the Philippines is in its foundational years and the study of Creative Economics is just one of its beginnings and still evolving, the rest is up to the architects and builders of the creative economy to form and structure the Philippine Creative Economy.
II. Creative Economics
What is Creative Economics? Creative Economics is the systematized and methodical study of the creative economy and the decision-making processes involved with it. In detail, Creative Economics is an emerging scope of applied economics, the knowledge and insights used in applying economic theory and research, in particular, of the creative economy to make well-informed decisions, economically related or otherwise.
