Welcome CUSD Teachers and Administrators

Why Digital Literacy and Citizenship?

In our unwavering commitment to student success we continue to innovate and incorporate 21st century tools into instruction and collaboration in the classroom. In the digital environment, we need to ensure that our students are safe, responsible, and efficient with their use of technology. This is in accordance with the state and federal law.

Student behavior and responsibility in the digital world is as important as student behavior in the physical world. Digital literacy and citizenship can protect and guide students in their behavior online the same way that classroom rules, norms, laboratory safety, and emergency preparedness protect and guide them at school. Since 2014, teachers in CUSD have collaborated to create this curriculum as part of the beginning of school procedures and norms. These lessons support the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), which we recommend you review with your students and fall into 8 categories:

  • Internet Safety
  • Privacy and Security
  • CyberBullying
  • Self-image and identity
  • Information Literacy
  • Relationships/Communication
  • Creative Credit and Copyright
  • Digital Footprint & Reputation

Please complete this after teaching each lesson.

Secondary teachers: Please only complete the verification once per lesson and not once per period the lesson was taught.
