Differentiation AIn't Difficult
Room: Keystone
Presenter(s): Lisa Whiston
Description: Having students with a variety of learning needs can be time consuming to create resources. There are AI tools that can reduce the workload for differentiation. The list of AI tools is constantly growing and evolving, but the three we will focus on are Diffit, Brisk, and Quizizz. Diffit utilizes AI to create reading passages and questions at a variety of reading levels, from keywords, PDFs, or even videos. The reading level and/or the language can be changed, and the reading passage and questions will regenerate. Brisk utilizes AI for feedback for student writing, and can also be used to create follow up resources based on the feedback. Quizizz offers multiple different question types for formatively assessing students. The AI side of Quizizz can ingest already created resources to create the questions. The magic is the accommodations available when you assign a Quizizz for students. These are just three of many tools that can be utilized to save time when differentiating activities.

MagicStudent: Customized AI Classrooms
Room: Meadow
Presenter(s): Kathy Schock
Description: In this fast-evolving generation of AI, it’s important to guide students through proper use of generative AI tools. In this session, we will look at MagicStudent, a free feature of MagicSchool AI. Teachers can create customized rooms for their students to interact with pre-selected AI tools. What would it be like to talk to Ray Bradbury about his novel Fahrenheit 451? Create Character Chatbots for anyone your students are learning about. Do your students need help with proofreading their writing? Enable a Text Proofreader to help them with spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. Would you like to foster creativity with AI generated images? Add the Adobe Express AI Image Generator tool and watch what your students create! There are over 50 tools that you can enable for your students to safely use AI in a guided environment. We will explore a few of these options with you as the student in a room, then give you time to check out the tools available.

Using Generative AI to Support Situational Learning
Room: Friendship
Presenter(s): Jeremy Gabborin & Bryan Hower
Description: This hands-on session explores how generative AI tools can enhance situational learning in High School and Career and Technical Education (CTE). Participants will learn advanced prompt engineering techniques to design realistic, engaging scenarios that help students apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. Key topics will include understanding situational learning principles, leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, and crafting effective prompts. Activities include collaborative prompt development for CTE subjects (e.g., culinary arts, health careers) and hands-on practice with AI-generated scenarios for workforce development. The session will emphasize authenticity, complexity, and differentiation in creating situational problems while addressing AI limitations like biases and inaccuracies. Participants will leave with practical strategies to integrate AI into their teaching, supported by an AI Toolkit with resources and best practices.
This session will provide a hands-on exploration of the ways generative AI tools can be used to develop and utilize situational learning prompts to support student achievement in Career and Technical Education. Participants will use advanced prompt engineering techniques to design situational problems for classroom use, providing realistic theoretical experiences for students.
