Yellow Tulip Project

CEMS Hope Day 10/10/2018

Cape Elizabeth Middle School is excited to partner with The Yellow Tulip Project (YTP) as part of our year long mental health programming. On October 10th (World Mental Health Day) we celebrated our first annual CEMS Hope Day, planting a Hope Garden. Six hundred yellow tulips were planted in the new Hope Garden. Each student and staff member planted a yellow tulip bulb and placed a marker in the ground next to their bulb with their personal message of hope. These markers have a green ribbon attached to represent World Mental Health Day. The garden is located in the raised bed at the front entrance of the middle school in hopes of spreading awareness surrounding mental health and wellness.

The year long mental health programming is funded through The Thompson Family Mental Health and Wellness Initiative Fund and the Cape Elizabeth Education Foundation (CEEF).
