We are Cape Breton Island's community orchestra.
For more than 25 years, we have offered a unique musical experience to the community, playing a wide ranging repertoire, from classical to jazz, opera to pop. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, from skilled amateurs, to classically trained professional musicians. Perhaps most importantly, each section has music students at the high school and university level, for which the orchestra provides important performance experience.
Join us for a joyful concert that spans centuries and genres! This spring concert features dazzling solo performances by our own orchestra members in Haydn’s sparkling Concerto in D for Piano and Orchestra and Bach’s beloved Double Violin Concerto. We’ll also lift your spirits with Copland’s powerful Fanfare for the Common Man. We'll intersperse these pieces with crowd favorites from Wicked, Hamilton, Lord of the Dance, and even Looney Tunes, along with a few other surprises! There’s something for everyone—don’t miss this celebration of classical mastery and pop culture magic!
The concert will be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Glace Bay, at 3pm and 7pm. Doors open at 2:15pm/6:00pm, respectively.
Tickets are $20, or $10 for students, and are available at the door or online:

We work hard to keep our ticket prices as low as possible. We want as many people as possible to enjoy the beauty of orchestral music. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the orchestra to help us do so.
We can't wait to perform for you on May 24th!
Founded in 1994 as a small chamber ensemble, the Cape Breton Orchestra has since grown to an evolving group of 30-or-so musicians of all ages, backgrounds and day jobs. We have performed our own spring and fall concerts in churches and theatres across CBRM, featuring guest vocalists and instrumental soloists.
As an organization, we are entirely volunteer-run; from our Board of Directors, to our performing musicians, and musical directors. Our financial support comes from community sponsors and individual donors. We are a registered non-profit with charitable status. Donations of $3 or more will receive a tax receipt.
We are now registered on CanadaHelps.org, which offers various donation methods, including one-time or recurring monthly donations of any dollar amount.
