FAQ - Guide Training

• Must be 18 years or older　18歳以上

• Good level of fitness and swimmin ability　体力と水泳能力

• Valid minimum 40 hour wilderness first aid certification (if not, during the season you may be asked to complete the first aid course)　最低40時間の野外救急法認定資格（取得していない場合は、シーズン中に救急法コースを受けて頂く場合もあります）

• Valid driver's license　有効な運転免許証

• Motivated and eager to learn　学習意欲があり、熱心であること

• Comfortable living outdoors and being mobile　野外での生活や移動に抵抗がないこと

Canyoning training is based on ICA standards.

During the training, your trainers will be constantly assessing and evaluating, not only your skills but your motivation and work attitude. Depending on your evaluation, it might take a shorter or longer time to become a guide. Some people pick it up fast (4 weeks), others take more time (8 weeks). It also depends on your background.

トレーニング中、トレーナーは常にあなたのスキルだけでなく、あなたのモチベーションと仕事の態度を評価します。 評価によっては、ガイドになるまでの時間が短くなったり長くなったりする場合があります。 早くなる人もいれば、もっと時間がかかる人もいます。 それはあなたのバックグラウンドにもよります。

The cost of the training is our investment in you so its FREE, provided you fulfill your contract. If you leave before the agreed date in the contract, the training cost of JPY150,000, will be deducted from your last paycheck to reimburse the company for the cost of the training. 

トレーニング費用は、弊社のあなたへの投資です。但し、契約で合意した日付より前に退職する場合は、研修費用 として150,000 円が最終給与から差し引かれます。

Over the course of the training, Canyons provides all of the equipment. For first season guides we have a rental system available, although some of the personal gear needs to be purchased.

トレーニング期間中に関してはキャニオンズがすべての装備を提供します。新人ガイドにはレンタルシステムをご用意しておりますが、個人装備の一部は購入する必要があります。

Canyons want everyone to become an AWESOME guide. This requires commitment and perseverance as training is physically and mentally demanding at times (as is guiding). 

Usually, the training hours are from 8:00 - 17:00. Although, sometimes we will ask you to stay longer, depending on team learning speed and progression.

キャニオンズは、誰もが素晴らしいガイドになることを望んでいます。 それには、コミットメントと忍耐力が必要です。

通常、トレーニング時間は8：00〜17：00です。 ただし、チームの学習速度や進行状況によっては、長く滞在するように求められる場合があります。

We are solely dependent on customer demand, and as such we are unable to guarantee a certain number of tours for the season. In past seasons the average number of trips was between 40-60 trips (not including Outdoor Education Programs) during the season. The peak season for summer tours is the Summer Holidays (mid July - End of August), and for the outdoor education programs, the peak season is May-June and September-November. If you are working on outdoor educations programs and guiding you will be kept busy!

お客様の入り具合による為、シーズンのツアー数を保証することはできません。 過去のシーズンの平均旅行回数は、シーズン中の40〜60回のトリップ（アウトドア教育プログラムを除く）でした。 夏のツアーのピークシーズンは夏休み期間中、野外教育プログラムのピークシーズンは5月から6月と9月から11月です。

Cafe help and accommodation cleaning jobs may be available to help earn some extra money. Although we would not recommend working while you are training. Therefore, it is important to be financially prepared for the start of the season.

カフェのヘルプと宿泊施設の清掃の仕事は、いくらか稼ぐことができます。但し、 トレーニング中はお勧めしません。 したがって、シーズンの開始に向けて貯金を準備することが重要です。

Canyons provides accommodation at an affordable price (JPY 30,000 - 40,000/month). 

キャニオンズは手頃な価格で寮を提供しています（月額３万～４万円）

The summer season runs from April until the end of November. Initial contracts will run until the end of October. Canyons have a re-application process for a limited number of positions available beyond October. 

夏のシーズンは4月から11月末までです。 初回契約は10月末までとなります。 キャニオンズでは、10月以降は仕事に限りがある為必要に応じて再申請プロセスがあります。
