It is often difficult to help students navigate the digital world when so much of it is new to us. No matter how much you hear that young people know so much about technology they are still learning how to use tools online and interact with their friends through social media and text messages.

Family Online Safety Institute (www.fosi.org) - FOIS has great resources for what they call Good Digital Parenting broken down by age groups and categories (Safety, Privacy, Mobile, Social Media, Digital Citizenship). This international organization helps parents with video

Digizen (http://www.digizen.org/parents/)- Resources for parents to explore many aspects of social networking and digital citizenship. Digizen has videos that give nice introductions to digital citizenship and many of the concerns parents have regarding social media.
