Hello, Baker Prairie Community! Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am excited to welcome new families and to see returning faces as we embark on another year's journey together. The entire Baker Prairie staff looks forward to partnering with you in nurturing your child's academic and emotional growth this year.

Each student will be required to sign our dress code agreement. The dress code agreement will be available at registration
Each student will be required to sign a personal device agreement. This document will be available at registration

We know combination locks can be scary for our incoming 7th graders. If your student does not know how to use a combination lock, see detailed instructions to your left. Additionally, our staff will be available to help all students who need it.
Each student will receive a combination lock for their hall locker. This is their lock for the entire school year. At the end of the year the lock should remain on the locker.
Students will also receive a lock for their PE lockers. PE locks are for the students use during the 2 trimesters they have PE. The locks should be returned to their PE teacher at the end of the trimester.
Students must use a BPMS issued lock. Unfortunately students can not use locks brought from home. If a student is having difficulties using a combination lock we have other locks that we can issue.
Students will be charged $8.00 for lost or missing locks.
Bus transportation is provided by Student Transportation of America (STA). STA anticipates that bus routes for this school year will be available by Friday, August 29th. We will share bus routes as soon as they are available. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding bus transportation, please contact STA at (503) 263-1007.
When dropping off your student for school please use the loop surrounding the parking lot to access the school. Please do not cut across the parking lot. This causes confusion and may be dangerous for walkers and other drivers. The bus loop is for busses only. Please do not use the bus loop to drop off your student. If you need to park your car you may enter the lot from the loop around the parking lot.
When picking up your student after school, you must use 13th Ave. to access BPMS and South Teakwood St. The Township entrance will be closed from 3:00-3:45 for bus use only. This helps alleviate congestion and provides a safe way for our students to be transported from school. Please do not cut through the parking lot as it creates an unsafe situation for our students and other drivers.
Transportation Changes
If your student plans to ride the bus home with another student, please send a note or call the office and we will get your student a bus pass. Students are not be allowed on other buses without a bus pass.
If someone else is picking up your student during school hours please send a note or call our office to let us know. We will not release your student to anyone without your permission.
Students will receive a new schedule each trimester. Each trimester consists of the following classes:
language arts, math, science and social studies
1 trimester each of art, CTE and general music, or a full year of band if a student elected to take band.
2 trimesters of PE
1 trimester of health
2, 6 week sessions of xblock each trimester. Xblock is a student choice elective.
Each trimester student schedules will change, however their core (and band) teachers will remain the same, but they could change class periods.
School begins everyday at 8:40am and ends at 3:30pm except for Wednesdays when school ends at 2:30pm. Please notify our office if your student will be late or absent.
If your student needs to leave school early, please notify the office. To eliminate extra time out of class, we will wait until you arrive at BPMS to call your student out of class. When your student sees your car, we will send them out. No need to come into the building, we will sign them out.
