About Mrs. DiFino

Hi! I grew up in, attended school in, and currently live in Canastota. I still have some local family and am pleased that my children will grown up with family and cousins close by and in such a close knit community. That is the type of thing that really makes me happy and excited for my future.

As far as education, after graduating from high school I attended The College of Saint Rose and earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Environmental Affairs. After college I came home to figure out what to do next. I subbed at Canastota while I made that plan. I decided that I enjoy teaching and that would be the next adventure. I enrolled and then graduated from LeMoyne College with a Masters degree in Teaching.

I was very fortunate to gain a teaching position at Bishop Grimes and stayed there for a few years. I taught a variety of Chemistry courses and SUPA Biology. I then moved on to Holland Patent High School where I taught a variety of Biology and Chemistry courses. I am very excited to be at Canastota and again will be teaching a few different science courses. I have taught many different levels of science from electives up to college level classes. I will continue that tradition here at Canastota and will teach a variety of Biology and Chemistry courses. I am also looking forward to helping with Science Olympiad this year.

In my free time I spend as much time as I can with my family. I have a little boy and we enjoy going for walks. I look forward to getting to know my students and being more involved in the community as my career here at Canastota blossoms.
