Leegay is pursuing her PhD in Nursing at the University of Saskatchewan. She was a research assistant on this dementia study in winter of 2024 for the data collection process. Her role was to administer some of the three cognitive tools to older persons in custody who agreed to participate in the study. Leegay is the Outreach Coordinator for Indigenous Service Canada.
