Professor Emeritus Cindy Peternelj-Taylor’s research and scholarship focuses on professional role development for nurses and other healthcare professionals who work with justice involved persons in forensic psychiatric and correctional settings, with emphasis on ethical issues that emerge from practice ( e.g. boundary violations, whistleblowing, Othering, and ethical decision making). She served as the Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Forensic Nursing, from 2010-2024, and is Distinguished Fellow with the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
