Spare Dell laptops will be available in all libraries. These spares can be used short term by staff if their laptop is undergoing repair. These spares are also intended for subs.
Because there are days when we have a high percentage of subs, Chromebooks will also be available from building libraries for sub use.
Building secretaries will be able to provide subs a temporary username and will have the ability to reset passwords.
Please provide precedence to subs needing to play DVD's for students. They will need to use one of the Dell laptops, as Chromebooks currently cannot utilize the software needed to play DVD's.
Chromebooks are able to stream videos from sources such as YouTube and Safari Montage. For the ease of the sub, a wired approach may be best.

Along with new hardware, systems will simultaneously be upgraded to Windows 10.
With many upgrades, this will be rolled out in phases.
Phase 1 is the replacement of the Chromebook & desktop for the docking station and laptop.
Phase 2 will be an opt in option for a ScreenBeam and USB document camera. This will happen with training and after all staff are in Phase 1.
