Hello! My name is Miss Fankhauser and I teach middle school and high school students here at Calvary Preparatory Academy. Before joining the Calvary Prep team I taught math in a nearby school district. Two of the things I love the most about working at our school are the opportunity to help students reach individual academic goals and the privilege of encouraging them in their walks with God. I am a graduate of Saddleback College and Concordia University Irvine. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, helping out at church, and trips to the beach.
A little bit about me
Birthday: March
I wanted to become a teacher because:
I knew that I wanted to work with people in a helping profession and then discovered that I really love math and the learning process.
I choose to teach at a Christian school because:
It is a joy to talk about the Lord with my students and to encourage them in their walks with God.
What is your best advice for your students?
Make the Lord your first priority. Spend time with Him in His word early in your time or your energy. He will guide all the other things in your life, and you will get to know Him and hear from Him as you walk close to Him.
Who is the single, most important person that made a positive impact on your life when you were a teenager?
If I had to choose just one person, my grandmother. She was always encouraging me to use my gifts and I know she prayed for me often.
What was your most embarrassing moment in high school?
I went to school with my shirt inside out and was wondering why an older kid was snickering about something, but then I figured out it was me!
In high school my life was like:
The marching band kept me very busy. We had practice every morning, football games to attend, and competitions on a lot of Saturdays. Church was also a big part of my life. I enjoyed the youth group and a small Bible study that a few of us girls started. My favorite trip was a canoe camping trip we took each year. We had a special permit to launch our canoes at the bottom of the Hoover Dam and would spend a couple of days lazily paddling down the river and camping on the shore at night.
