Hello everyone! My name is Jared Beck and I have been the Director of CPA since God first planted a vision to start the school back in 2009. It is so amazing to see all that God had planned from that initial vision come to fruition! I look forward to seeing CPA continue to bless students, families, and communities across the world as it has for the past decade.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children in our town of San Marcos, CA. On the weekends and holidays, we often camp and go on road trips to all the beautiful beaches and mountains here in California. I have been playing guitar, piano, and singing for most of my life and it’s something I love to do. I am also a little bit of a gardening fanatic; I have a greenhouse and hundreds of varieties of plants on my property. For fitness, I enjoy surfing, hiking, running, and training in the Israeli martial art known as Krav Maga. I also love to travel!
For several years I have had the privilege of serving as a board member for a 120-year-old Jewish Christian organization known as the American European Bethel Mission.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, right down to help with your individual homework.
A little bit about me
Birthday: July 25th
My best advice for students is:
Learn your own habits, strengths, and weaknesses so you can discover ways to be successful with the unique tools God has given you.
The single most important person that made a positive impact on my life when I was a teenager was:
This is funny, because I met Kimberly Smith (now Kim Beck) when I was only 17! She was 21 and we crossed paths at a church event in Hawaii.
Teaching has taught me about myself, and the way people learn by:
Patience, patience, patience, pa...........wait for it............................................tience!
I wanted to become a teacher since:
I love youth and making a difference in their lives.
I choose to teach at a Christian school because:
The best thing I could ever teach a student is that God loves them, created them in his image, and God has made a way for them to have eternal life, free from sin and death through his son Jesus.
My most embarrassing moment in high school was:
Nothing at the time, I rocked it (at least I thought so!). Now, looking back, fashion decisions. I had a huge, untrained afro/mop of hair.
In high school my life was like:
I was very independent but had a great bunch of friends as well. I was very involved in church groups from a variety of denominations and Christian Surfers as well. I would go camping several nights a week, have bonfires on the beach, played a lot of guitar with others. I really loved backpacking and camping, as well as road trips. I was taking road trips with friends north to San Francisco to down south in Mexico as early as age 16. I'm not sure how my parents allowed that! I also was, and still am, an avid hot spring enthusiast!
These are a few of my favorite things...
My favorite hobby is:
Guitar by far, but also camping, road trips, surfing, gardening, and creating things from scratch.
My favorite stores are:
Bass Pro Shops, it's the closest thing to heaven on earth for rednecks like me.
My favorite dessert is:
Carrot cake
My favorite restaurant is:
Stella Maris on Mt. Carmel overlooking the Mediterranean. Absolute favorite.
My favorite scent is:
This may sound crazy, but I love sulphur. Yep, hard boiled eggs, matches, that smell. The reason being I spent so much time in hot springs, the smell of sulphur brings back good memories. Crazy, right?
My favorite candy/snacks are:
I'm not that into sweets, but I do like 100 Grand bars.
My favorite cookie flavor is:
I'm not into sweets, but oatmeal raisin cookies are great, not too sweet.
My favorite flowers are:
Plumeria. I have dozens of them growing at my house.
My favorite drink is:
I drink a lot of coffee and tea.
My favorite color is:
Blue, like the sea and the sky.
