Writing

Choose ONE of these sections from the Readworks article, Go Outside and Play to write your paragraph about:

  • Find Your Place
  • The Great Outdoors
  • Why? Play Outdoor?

YOU ARE NOT WRITING ABOUT THE ENTIRE ARTICLE. ONLY CHOOSE ONE OF THE ABOVE TOPICS FROM THE ARTICLE (you can choose which one).

Create your key word outline today to summarize the topic of your choice from this week's article.

Test your outline

  • Orally retell your key word summary to someone.
  • Have them sign your outline to show that you read it to them.

Write a good topic sentence and clincher

  • Make sure your topic sentence clearly outlines what your details are about on your outline.
  • Remember: a clincher repeats or reflects your topic sentence (same words, different order, or similar words, or you can include both).
  • Ask yourself ???

? Do you need to change any of my key words?

? Does my outline tell about what I wrote for a topic sentence?

? Does my clincher repeat or reflect my topic sentence?
