The Story of Zaccheus
For our Bible lesson this week, you and your child can read the story of Zaccheus, found in Luke 19.
Here are a few questions to help your child recall some details of the story.
- Q.1 What was Zaccheus's job? (A. He was a tax collector)
- Q.2 Was Zaccheus honest and fair to the people? What was he doing that was wrong? (A. No. He was keeping too much of their money)
- Q.3 Did Zaccheus want to see Jesus when he came to Jericho? (A. Yes he did)
- Q.4 Why was he not able to see Jesus? (A. He was not tall enough to see over the crowd)
- Q.5 What did Zaccheus do so he could see Jesus? (A. He climbed a Sycamore tree)
- Q.6 What did Jesus do when he walked by Zaccheus in the tree? (A. He looked up at him)
- Q.7 What did Jesus say to Zaccheus? (A. "Come down, I am coming to your house today!")
- Q.8 After Jesus's visit, did Zaccheus have a change in his heart? What did he decide to do? (A. Yes, he wanted to do the right thing, and gave the people back their money)
- Q.9 Did Zaccheus start to follow Jesus? (A. Yes!)
