At Calvary Christian Academy, our robotics program goes beyond building competitive robots—we’re building character, collaboration, and Christ-centered leaders. Our teams, Trial and Terror and Theoretically Correct, work together to design, build, and program robots for the FIRST Tech Challenge. Rooted in Colossians 3:23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters," we strive for excellence in every task, using our God-given talents to solve real-world problems, support one another, and glorify Him through STEM innovation.
As a team, CCA Robotics engages in hands-on STEM learning through the design, building, and programming of robots for the FIRST Tech Challenge. We are divided into three main divisions—mechanical, programming, and business—each playing a crucial role in our success. Together, we brainstorm creative solutions, prototype ideas, write Java code, document our progress in engineering portfolios, and prepare for competitions. We also focus on teamwork, time management, and communication skills, while seeking to honor God in all we do. Whether it's mentoring younger students, collaborating with sponsors, or cheering each other on at events, we aim to reflect Christ through our actions, attitudes, and efforts.
FIRST Tech Challenge is an exciting, hands-on robotics competition for students in grades 7–12, blending science, technology, engineering, and teamwork in a sports-like environment. Students design, build, and program robots to compete in annual challenges that test creativity, technical skill, and strategic thinking. With guidance from experienced mentors, teams develop life skills like leadership, collaboration, and project management, all while embracing Gracious Professionalism—where helping others and competing with integrity are key. At Calvary Christian Academy, FTC allows students to explore STEM through a Christ-centered lens, growing not only in technical ability but also in perseverance, humility, and servant leadership. As a team, we strive to honor God in all we do, using our talents to glorify Him and support one another throughout the season.
