Live Sessions for English 3

Description:

Your attendance to our weekly live session is a requirement and counts toward your grade in our course. We meet once a week. The sessions are fun and interactive, and they supplement what you are learning in Edgenuity. You will meet and work with other students, use the tools provided in the classroom to write on the board, answer multiple choice questions, write poetry, create artwork, brainstorm or outline for an essay, search for clues in scavenger hunts, and more. 

Students who attend live sessions for courses tend to do much better in their classwork because they have had opportunity to engage with the material on a deeper level and to practice using their new skills with feedback from the teacher and other students.

Live Session Assignments will vary depending on topics and activities for class each week. This means completing the work individually assigned in class to demonstrate application and mastery of the content and skills taught during class. 

Assigned work may include a Nearpod activity, graphic organizer, writing assignment, drawing, multiple choice, open-ended response, pre-prepared mini-project, group work, and more.

This work should be completed in class, though on occasion more time is given to complete work assigned up to no more than one week (due by the next week's session). You need to be fully engaged the entire class session in order to get what is needed to complete the work assigned.

NOTE: You will NOT be assigned "Exit Tickets" in this class. The work assigned requires that you demonstrate mastery of the objectives from the session and require that you be fully engaged the entire session in order to successfully complete what is assigned.

If work assigned is not completed by the due date assigned in our Google Classroom, it will receive a zero in the gradebook.

Click to read through the Make Up Policy, which allows for two weeks' time to make up a missed session with a maximum of two sessions made up per semester. Students with administrative-approved live session accommodations may have more time or unique assessment expectations.
