Step 1: Most brokerages will allow you to transfer out any active listings. However if a transaction is pending, it must continue to be processed and closed out under your previous brokerage. Your commission payout will be from the original brokerage, or whomever is on the contract. However, not all offices have the same procedures, so check your ICA to see if you can bring your active listings with you.
Step 2: Draft up a transfer letter, listing the addresses and MLS numbers of the properties you wish to transfer. An example of the letter can be found HERE. Feel free to make a copy and edit for your own use.
Step 3: The transfer letter will need to be signed by both your previous broker and the VA eXp Realty broker. This can be sent via Authentisign or another e-signature service such as Docusign.
Step 4: Email the transfer letter to your MLS. If you are transferring listings in REIN MLS, email the letter to Customerservice@reininc.com
Step 5: SAVE the letter to your files, as you will need to upload the proof of transfer when you upload the listing paperwork into SkySlope for compliance. You do NOT need to complete new listing paperwork! However an MLS change form signed by your clients is highly recommended.
