Parent Newsletter

From The Principal's Desk

Dear Elementary School Parents:

October means it's time for Student Led Conferences (SLC) on Tuesday, October 2nd, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The electronic sign up was sent out last week, so do be sure you have signed up!

On Wednesday, October 31st, we will have our Book Character Event where each student will bring a book and wear a costume that is related to that special book. And, of course, we want to thank all the parents for an amazing ES Guatemala Independence Day Celebration. The students very much enjoyed working on the sawdust rugs, "alfombras." Everything was just about perfect including the weather!

The Elementary School Section, in collaboration with our PTA, will again support the Habitat for Humanity foundation. Our goal is to collect donations to assist with providing family housing for those in need. Please read the excerpt below; more specific information will be coming home soon.

We have had a great start to the 2018-2019 school year! Know that my door is always open!

Feel free to contact me: (rschmidt@cag.edu.gt or 2500-9500).

And, do enjoy the October break!

Kind regards,

Book Character Event

Wednesday October 31, 2018

Every year, the Elementary School section has a Book Character Event where your child selects their favorite book character and comes to school dressed as that wonderful book character. Each section will celebrate our books and book characters in the classroom with our peers and teachers. Let's celebrate books and the love of reading together!

Guatemalan Independence Day

Thursday September 13, 2018

Just a note to say a huge "THANK YOU" to all the APM/PTA moms and dads that made this Guatemalan Independence Day such a special event. The students had a great time and we truly celebrated our wonderful Guatemala!

Student Led Conferences (SLC)

Tuesday, October 2nd,

from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Just a friendly reminder that Parent Conferences for Grade 2 - Grade 5 will be on Tuesday, October 2nd, from 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Quick Tip Friendly Reminders :)

Help us help you by labeling your child’s clothing, backpack, and lunch box so that we can then return everything when they are misplaced.

In the interest of valuing and respecting learning, please be mindful of not interrupting instruction from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Teachers are always available to meet with parents before or after school by prearranged, scheduled appointments.

Also, please do not send any celebration items, such as food, treats, decorations, toys, etc. to school. You may send a celebration invitation to go home with students, however, there must be an invitation for all students in the class.

Thank you for your understanding and support with high-quality, daily instruction and learning.

Feel free to contact the Elementary School Office if you ever have any ideas or suggestions to improve our educational program.
