Dr. Lisa Gilbert is the Department Chair of Geology, Oceanography and Environmental Science at Cabrillo College. She has been teaching for more than 20 years and is committed to making college science courses more welcoming and relevant. 

She holds an A.B. degree in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington in Oceanography, where she specialized in Marine Geology and Geophysics and visited the seafloor in Alvin.
