Welcome to Cabrillo Fall 2023 Semester! 

I am so proud of you. My name is Tera Martin, and I am honored to be your instructor for English 1A and English 101A, Sections CRQ08. 

You have decided to take college courses during a time of a lot of stress and change. I understand that you, as students, are spread thin with responsibilities: jobs, classes, family, stress, and transformed lives. 

And yet you are here. For many of you, this will be your first college class. For others, you are returning to college to keep heading towards your goals. I also know there are some dual-enrolled high school students with us as well. What a group! I am so honored to have all of you in our community. 

I approach teaching my classes with great flexibility and empathy. Kindness matters. I maintain high standards, and my job, as your teacher, is to ensure that I provide you with everything I can for you to meet them. I will be your biggest cheerleader and one of the many campus connections you will have to ensure your physical and mental well-being this semester. 

I look forward to sharing the next 16 weeks with you.
