Court and Hearing Reporting

Tri-Community Adult Education is a Certified Court Reporting School approved by the Court Reporters Board of California and the National Court Reporters Association. In this era of technology, train to be a real-time court reporter in the court and deposition field and related careers. Real-time court reporters can make in excess of $100,000 per year and only a state license is required, not a degree. For related careers, certifications are offered. Welding and Metal Fabrication

Welding is a vocational training program based upon practical hands-on welding and classroom theory in all welding processes from basic to advanced techniques. The Welding Center is licensed to administer the practical examinations required by the Los Angeles Department of Building & Safety and in accordance with AWS D1.1. L.A. City written examination prep classes are also offered with limited enrollment.

Metal Fabrication introduces students to metalworking, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication layout. Students will receive technical training and "in the field" working knowledge that is required to meet the demands of the industry, to gain marketable skills as a fabricator, and to prepare students for employment. This course is designed to give students the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform accurate and precise fit up from simple shapes to complex projects and custom assemblies.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning

Commercial and residential HVAC training, troubleshooting, and certification classes. This course provides hands-on workforce readiness skills to prepare students for employment and the EPA Certification.

Electrician

Commercial and residential HVAC training, troubleshooting, and certification classes. This course provides hands-on workforce readiness skills to prepare students for employment and the EPA Certification.

Personal Care Aide

Students will obtain entry-level skills as a personal health care aide in either a home setting, long-term care facility, or social services placement. This course is designed for in-home and assisted living caregivers, includes training in ethics, client's rights, and elder abuse as well as training in emergency first aid, personal care, and assistance with daily living tasks.

Bookkeeping Part 1 & 2

Accounting Principles taught manually, as well as computer-assisted bookkeeping methods using software to record and process transactions for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Statements. A Certificate of Completion for Accounting Principles, Sage 50 (Peachtree), and QuickBooks can be earned by completing Bookkeeping Part 1 and Bookkeeping Part 2. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to obtain five (5) college credits through our Articulation Agreement with Mt. San Antonio college. Completion of the coursework takes two terms.
