On Tik Tok, there is a new trend that some people are head over heels for and some not so much… the Stanley Cup.

The Stanley Cup is a tumbler. They come with a handle, or without a handle.

"The handle makes it super easy to carry around the cup," freshman Victoria Razar said.

Coming in sizes ranging from 16 oz all the way up to 40 oz., Stanley Cups have a variety of colors- even metallic and ombre ones as well.

This trend started around December; they were sold out after Christmas. The popularity of these tumblers grew through Tik Tok. More and more people on Tik Tok would post "Fill my new Stanley with me" and the videos would go viral.

Almost 6 months later, Stanley cups continue to sell out all over the world, despite the high price tag they are given.

Stanley Cups can start as low as $16, but will typically run between $30-$50 on the Stanley site, and over $60 on other sites.

"Stanleys keep my Dr. Pepper cold all day and I still eat the ice after!" Razar added.

Sophomore Jenna Wilke shared, ¨Stanley cups are worth it because they fit your cup holder and are very cute.¨

Every Stanley cup is made to fit inside of a standard car's cup holder, which is very convenient to the people who have cups that do not fit in cup holders.

People purchase Stanley cups because they are popular, even if they do not believe it is the best tumbler on the market.

The Stanley Cup's biggest competitor is Yeti. Even though Stanley cups are popular, teens like Jenna think there are cups that are better in terms of quality. ¨Yetis are better; the only reason why is because they don't spill, and your drink stays colder for longer, but I still love Stanleys,¨ Wilke said.

Despite how popular the Stanleys are, Yetis are still loved and used around the world. Yetis also have the advantage of offering a wide variety of colors, sizes, and designs, while Stanley Cups have only a limited amount of colors, sizes, and designs.

Sophomore Jordin Malicki prefers the Yeti: "Yeti´s do not spill, the ice stays all day, and even with hot drinks, it stays a consistent temperature."

Malicki added, "But Stanleys are cute, and I can see why people love to carry them around."

Freshman Dani Riggs isn't buying into the Stanley trend: ¨Stanley´s are not worth the hype because they´re overpriced and they spill so easily.¨
