A new Tropical Smoothie Cafe has recently opened in the Sunbury Kroger plaza, and it has quickly become one of the town’s hot spots due to the variety of smoothies that they offer.

On top of numerous flavors, you can also add protein, supplements, Vitamin C, energizer, or fat burner to your smoothie.

Freshman Leah Evans had Tropical Smoothie for the first time recently, and she loved her Mango Magic smoothie. Her favorite part about it was how fun and bright the smoothie looked.

"It felt like I was somewhere in Florida," said Leah.

Junior Graham Federer said he loves Tropical Smoothie. His go-to smoothie is the Kiwi Quencher with whey protein and supplements.

While Graham choice is tasty, the Bahama Mamma is a student favorite. Several students cited this drink as their favorite, including sophomore employee Cloe Key, as well as Jordin Maliki and Jax Lawrence.

The cafe also serves food. Jordin said that on top of her sweet smoothie, she likes to get the buffalo chicken wrap. On the side, Jax Lawrence prefers a 4-cheese chicken quesadilla with chips.

The cafe is also noted for its service and convenience. Jax said the employees are so kind, while Graham Federer said he loves the fact that he can skip the line, ordering online and picking it up in the store. Leah shared, "The workers are so sweet and helpful if you don't know what to get or when you can't decide."

Despite the popularity, some students aren't pleased with Tropical Smoothie. Sophomore Lou Roberto went recently and he was not a fan. "The prices are too high and the drinks are mid," said Lou. "The price for a smoothie is $6.99; it's so stupid!"

In comparison to other smoothie places like PowerFuel, which start at $8.00 for a shake, most students, like Graham, said they believe that the prices are reasonable. Jordin said, "I like getting my money's worth with something sweet and savory."

Cloe added that Tropical Smoothie is "such a fun place to work and the people there are so fun." She says that there are no bad options, and added that if you're an employee you get 50% off. She suggested that more BWHS students should consider working there.
