Bringing exciting opportunities to BWHS spirit, the Rage Cage leaders have worked hard to give students what they want.

Cage leaders have one job: they have to spread spirit across the our school and give students ways to express that spirit.

One major problem the Cage faces is fan attendance at away games.

Senior Cage Leader Noah Belknap said, ¨We've always been nervous about it. We've struggled with transportation recently and having the ability to get underclassmen there that aren't able to drive.¨

The solution was to create a Rage Cage bus that would pick students up and have them dropped off at the game. The leaders hoped that this would increase the amount of people showing up to support the team.

Cage Leader Sydnee Snyder explained that they reached out to Asst. Athletic Director Teresa Piper to arrange the use of a bus. Through her help, and the help of the Athletic Director Brian Shelton, the use of a district bus was arranged for transporting student fans to away games.

For a cost of $10 students can load onto the bus with friends, have a pizza dinner, and cheer on the Eagles at the game.

Delaware Hayes was the first bus of the season.

Junior Tyler Young went along for the ride and enjoyed his first Rage Cage Bus experience.

¨It was really good. Everybody was having fun, but nothing out of control, and it was organized well,” Young shared.

The bus also proved to be a fun way to make new friends.

Junior Natalie Reida shared that it was fun to talk to other people you might not talk to everyday. “I think it was worth it because you also got pizza,¨ Reida added.

Despite the positive feedback from these bus riders, the first Rage Cage Bus was not as successful as the leaders had hoped. Attendance on the bus did not reach the numbers some leaders envisioned. Snyder believes the experience will continue to grow in popularity and hopes the next bus will be full.

“I think we are going to do it again for the Canal game,” Snyder said.
