All sophomores took a trip to the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) on November 22 to tour the building and see if it is the right fit for their futures.

Delaware Area Career Center is an outstanding place for students to start their careers off while still in high school. DACC provides hands-on learning to help the students find out what their career actually involves. DACC offers numerous elective courses for students to choose from that span all fields, including medical and dental, construction, design, technology and robotics to name just a few.

While attending the program you can also receive college credits, industry credentials, internships, and training.

Since DACC provides many opportunities, a lot of students have expectations about what each one will be like.

¨I think it will be a very good atmosphere. I expect cosmetology will be an interesting course. I want to go to cosmetology school so I

hope DACC will help me in the future," sophomore Aurelia Baker shared.

Before the trip, sophomore Jace Murray said he was looking forward to it:¨I expect it to be a fun learning experience and I look forward to exploring it and meeting new people.¨

The school is already on most sophomores' radar thanks to upperclassmen endorsements.

Sophomore Ellie Rockwell said, ¨I've heard it's not just BIg Walnut kids which is nice so I can meet new people with similar interests. I've heard a lot about how people are able to better pursue their passion there, and they can start their career from a high school building.”

Sophomore Aurelia Baker added, ¨I've heard it is a good place to help set you up for the future. Piper Dauer, my friend, is in the cosmetology program. She said that even though she had to leave Big Walnut, it was worth it.¨

"I've heard from most people that it's a fun environment and the people there are great," sophomore Jace Murray said.

This annual field trip helps so many students decide if DACC is the right option for them.

"I've heard good things about it. Everyone tells me that I should go, but I'm not sure yet. I hope I'll find out after I go," sophomore Austin Duckwall said.
