Varsity Football has five freshman dressing who are raining in a new era of young talent, fueled by the unique energy players talk about.

The five freshmen are Owen Pollock, Brody Hatfeild, Jake Neff, Eli Helton, and Jackson Barnecut. These players shared some of the rewards they gained from their experience with the varsity players.

This opportunity comes with upperclassman advice and brotherhood.

"It is an amazing opportunity to get closer to the older football players," Hatfeild shared.

Pollock said, “I like building relationships with the upperclassmen, and I am so thankful for all the help and advice the coaches have given me this season.”

“I love that all of the coaches and players are very welcoming to the underclassmen," Barnecut added.

This unprecedented team is pulling victory after victory partly due to their team energy and culture. Neff said, “I like the energy in the lockeroom before and after the games"

This energy has only grown since 2021 when the varsity team went 10-0 in the regular season.

The last big season since was 2007-2008 when they where State Champions and went 14-1, counting playoff games. It had been almost two decades since the program has seen such a talent and energy across its athletes and coaching staff.

“I was excited that Coach Page pulled me aside to ask me to dress Varsity. With all the people watching, it is a once in a lifetime opportunity as a freshman,” Helton said.
