Miss Massingill

Fifth Grade Science

Hello Parents and Students!

My name is Miss Massingill and I will be your fifth grade science teacher this year! This is my third year teaching at Big Walnut Intermediate School and I am thrilled to be working with all of you this year. I graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor's in Middle Childhood Education and obtained my Master's degree from Walden University. I know we are going to have a great year this year full of hands-on learning experiences! Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Here's to a great year!

Class Description

In my class students will be learning about the scientific method, ecosystems, the solar system, light, sound, and motion. In my classroom students will work in groups frequently and will be doing a lot of collaborative learning and activities. Students will also have the chance to participate in science fair this year and will present at our school's STEM Night. They will then have the opportunity to take their project to the District Science Fair to present and if scored high enough, can move up to the State Science Fair!
