Hello!
I am a Centaurus graduate and happy to be a Centaurus teacher!
I graduated from Colorado State University (Go RAMS!) with my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
Since I had quite a few computer science courses under my belt, I moved into engineering, without an engineering degree. I worked for 10 years, writing embedded software for large storage devices. During that time period, I attended CU to take additional classwork in electrical engineering, earning a graduate level certificate in software engineering.
BUT...I started welcoming kids to my cube on Kids to Work Day, helping out with Engineering Week, and teaching Sunday School and found that working with youth was a kick! While continuing to write software, I attended Regis University at night to earn my Masters degree in Education, which then allowed me to jump careers.
I really don't sit around doing math and playing with computers in all of my free time... Running is my first love and I've completed 5 marathons and 29 consecutive Bolder Boulders. Hiking, biking, traveling, crafting, or tickling the ivories (piano) give me something else to do.
