Welcome to the Douglass Elementary Art Website!

This website provides information about the different art projects and units we are working on as well as visual art standards, curriculum, and expectations.  In addition, please view the "Galleries & Info" page to see some great examples of art in all the grades.

Be sure to view the "Other Info" tab to see more about volunteering, fundraisers, and other links.

In the art classes here at Douglass Elementary, the students have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media, work with various techniques, and continue to sharpen the students' skills year to year.  This art reflects studies of art history, explores many cultures, and relates to the world around us.  Inherent in our projects is the understanding of the art fundamentals; the elements of art and principles of design. Douglass artists learn that art is a process, combining creative problem solving and self expression.

Art Schedule

All grades K-5 have art for 50 minutes blocks according to our ABC rotating district schedule..  If you have questions about which day and time your student attends art, please contact the classroom teacher or art teacher.  The school office is also aware of the schedule.

I have been teaching art since 2007. I have worked in all levels from elementary to high, but have found that my true passion lies with teaching elementary students.  I enjoy watching them mature in their creative process year to year. I started teaching art at Douglass Elementary school in Fall 2015.

I am an oil painter and I enjoy ceramics as well.  In my free time you can find me painting, playing with my daughter, or enjoying nature.
