Early Childhood Education

Do you enjoy working with young children? Would you like to work in a preschool or child care setting or become an Elementary School Teacher? This is the program for you! Earn 18 college credits and your Foundations of Early Childhood Education Certificate.

This certificate program provides students with the knowledge, techniques, and strategies to become qualified to be an early childhood teacher in Colorado. It meets or exceeds the education requirements for Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) “Early Childhood Teacher (ECT).” CDHS requires 60 hours of practicum experience within an ECE setting. Therefore, students will be given the opportunity to work hands-on in a early childhood facility. There are requirements that the student must be a minimum of 16 years of age and pass a criminal background check.

Semester 1:

EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER ASSISTANT QUALIFICATION

This is a concurrent college program offered at Boulder TEC with Front Range Community College (Includes the 60 Hour practicum in a preschool setting). Students enrolling in this program must be a minimum of 16 years old, and pass a criminal background check before they are allowed to start their practicum hours with children.

Semester 2:

EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER Pathway

This is a concurrent college program offered at Boulder TEC with Front Range Community College. Upon completion of both semesters, and the required work experience hours, you will have the college classes you need to become Early Childhood Teacher Qualified. Credits gained in this program can also be used toward a four year college degree in Early Childhood Education!
