About The CEO & Founder

Rolande S. Sumner is a retired US Army veteran and the CEO & Founder of Butter Angels LLC®. Rolande enlisted in the US Army National Guard in 1995 and retired in 2015. During her career she was a Admin Clerk, Heavy Vehicle Operator and Human Resources Generalist/Manager. She served as both a traditional National Guard Soldier and in an Active Guard/Reserve capacity. She’s been stationed in Massachusetts, South Carolina and Afghanistan.

Rolande’s passion is empowering and inspiring women veteran to live full and authentic lives. Her mission is to enhance the beauty of powerful women with quality skin care and though encouraging messaging, inspirational stories, powerful imagery via her company Butter Angels Handcrafted Skin Care®, her blog, podcast and YouTube channel named “Sister Soldier Entrepreneur”.

During her military service she decided to create her own natural skin care products to address her dry skin. After many years of trial, error, education and mentorship, she developed highly effective products made with exotic ingredients from around the world. Rolande has turned her skin care hobby into a thriving business. Today she handcrafts each of her products in her private laboratory with love, cGMP practices, and military precision.

As part of her platform, Rolande hosts a feature called Veteran Spotlight. Veteran Spotlight highlights the entrepreneurial journeys, services, products and expertise of African American Women Veterans. It provides an opportunity to inspire and motivate women veterans to pursue their dreams and live full lives. Butter Angels LLC® also donates to women veteran organizations and animal advocacy.
