Bibliographic Entries
Format
Your name and period appear at the top of your bib entry handout.
All parts of the bib must be completed according to The BHS Guide to Academic Writing and handouts distributed in class.
The correct MLA format is used for each source.
The first line of the bib is left-justified, and all other lines are tabbed in.
2. Source Variety
The bib entries reflect 2 different sources.
You may use the following sources for this project: credible websites ending in .org, .edu, or .gov; periodical websites; articles from Gale and SIRS; credible websites pre-approved by Mrs. Aranyos; or books.
You have a total of 2 bib entries.
Sources must be relevant to the paper’s topic.
Sources must be dated from 2019 to present unless you speak to Mrs. Aranyos, and she approves of an older source.
3. Punctuation
Put a comma between the author’s last name and first name.
Titles of articles are in quotation marks.
Titles of magazines, newspapers, and journals are italicized (if typed) or underlined (if handwritten).
Dates are formatted day then month then year. EX: 17 Nov. 2025
Periods, colons, and commas needed in each bib card are correctly used.
MLA abbreviations are used correctly.
All bib entries end with a period.
