Seniors sad to go but leaving the team in good hands
The Burrell Bucs 2023 Girls Volleyball team was led by Captains Seniors Gia Hornack and Bella Greenwald. The team consisted of 8 seniors who have been playing together for a long time. They included Karlee Thimons (Middle/Outside), Rory Pallone (Outside/Rightside), Cassidy Ley (Middle), Emma Conte (Rightside), Keagan Ford (Outside), Addy Rusek (Middle), Bella Greenwald (Outside), and Gia Hornack (Libero).
In addition to the seniors leading the team this year, Freshman Delaney Ploskunak, Sophomore Meadow Keyes, and Junior Pyper Ferres had a huge impact on the success of this season. The ladies ended the season taking second in their section which cemented them a spot in the playoffs. They ended the season with a record of 13-3.
According to Hornack, "We are looking for a strong playoff win to make this our best season yet."
Hornack got her wish as the girls enter their second round of playoffs on 10/28.
