2023 Burrell High School Cross Country Team

Being small in number, but large in spirit, this year's Cross Country team is still running at full speed with only nine members.  Even though it's a solitary sport, there's still a sense of being part of a team.  Senior Catherine Scherer said, "The season has been good. We are training for WPIALS right now, which is at the end of October. There has been a lot of improvement for each runner."

Senior Morgan Swahn said, "Our team is small but mighty, and all of us have improved so much this season. I can't wait to see how everyone performs at the end of the season."

Senior Grace Nesko also broke the previous Girls Cross Country school record of 20:07 with a time of 19:55 at the TSTCA Championships.  She finished 10th overall.  Nesko and Platt placed in the Top 25 at the 21st Annual Red, White, and Blue Classic hosted by Baldwin High School at White Oak Park.  Nesko came within 2 seconds of her personal record.  Platt broke his own school record by 32 seconds.  Perry dropped 8 minutes off his time.

Nesko finished in 7th place at the PIAA Qualifier and set a new school record of 19:34.  She is Hershey bound!
