Painting a "taste of home" in the HS cafeteria
Paint Night was a fun family event hosted by Reading Railroad to raise money for the club. Parents and students of all ages joined Mrs. Kariotis, the club's sponsor, and club student workers at the high school Tuesday, October 18 at 6 pm for a creative night of painting. Families painted unfinished wooden signs engraved with a welcoming message. One parent who attended the event stated, "[Paint night was] bonding for the whole family." Freshman Lizzy Frain summed it up best, “Wonderful! Fun! Fantastic!” Snacks and drinks were available for purchase, and everyone had an exciting night of bonding and painting fun. Two of the Reading Railroad volunteers weighed in on the success of the event. Senior and RR Treasurer Abby Larko said, “Although we didn’t get the turnout we expected, it turned out very well. Everybody had a fabulous time," and Junior Catherine Scherer commented while they cleaned up, "We had a grand old time.” Reading Railroad sponsors several of these events a year, so keep a look out for the next one and be sure to attend.
The paint studio, Market Street Art, provided supplies for the event and their instructor explained how to create the signs.
