Buc... the newest member of the BHS community
The Lower Burrell Police Department held a K9 demonstration on Thursday, October 27 during AR periods at the high school. Officer Rob Acquaviva, the school's Resource Officer, and Officer Aaron Rodgers introduced students to Buc, the new Police K9, and his handler. Buc did some tricks and students were allowed to interact with the K9. Officer Rob said they decided to conduct the demonstration not only as an introduction but also to give students an opportunity to ask questions. It was also an opportunity for Buc's Handler, Officer Rodgers, to demonstrate what Buc can do. Senior Gabe Baker stated, “It's so sick that we have a dog that we get to see everyday.” Many students attended the event, which was held outside near the tennis courts, and it was well received by both the LB Police Department and the students at BHS.
