Fire and conversation lights up Junior Court in first Fireside Chats event
On Thursday, October 27, Burrell High School hosted the first Fireside Chat sponsored by the organization Kidsburgh. About 50 participants had fun while re-engaging, learning from conversations, and strengthening our relationships with families, students, staff, and our community! Participants enjoyed some food and friendship around the campfires - eating hot dogs, s’mores, kettle corn, apples & caramel, hot cocoa, hot cider, and water. The Burrell Interact Club and choir student volunteers led the elementary students in fun activities such as pumpkin decorating, campfire songs, yard games, and a fall-themed scavenger hunt. Senior Autumn Miller commented on the event, “The best part was watching each one of the kids’ faces light up with joy when they got the opportunity to decorate pumpkins and sing campfire songs at the activity stations." Miller also thought the event was worth doing again, "I believe we should do this again because I feel as if it was a really fun event that brought the community together as one, and it gave everyone a chance to get to talk with one another so that they could get to know each other better!”
