The wonders of Punta Cana!
By Gabe Ziccarelli
Have you ever dreamed of visiting Punta Cana, or wondered what beauties and adventures lie there? Well with the help of Senior Hanna Thomas and some other visitors to this wonderful place, I am here to tell you about all the amazing things to explore and enjoy! Thomas plans to stay in Bavaro Beach for the weekend, which is a beautiful 30 km long white sandy beach with turquoise waters, and it is home to a variety of all-inclusive resorts such as the Hard Rock Hotel. Thomas expressed only excitement for her upcoming trip, “[I want to] simply have an escape from society and enjoy the beautiful weather!”
Bavaro Beach is often described as one of the most interesting beaches in the world. There are many activities to do there, such as swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, parasailing, and windsurfing. Sophomore Nicole Ziccarelli loved Punta Cana. She summed up her trip, “I have always wanted to go snorkeling in the ocean. Not only to witness the wildlife of the sea, but to see the variety of coral colors beneath the surface.” Freshmen Gavyn Orr also visited Punta Cana. He said, "The beach was wonderful. I really enjoyed the restaurant, El Tora." Retired senior citizen Gladys Sublinsky (Gabe's grandmother) said she never wanted to leave this beach. The enjoyment and wonderful time she had there is like no other around her hometown or anywhere else in the world.
If these reviews haven't convinced you of wanting to visit yet, then listen to these facts: the sounds of the waves, the feel of the fresh sand under your feet, and the sea breeze can be incredibly relaxing and calming, spending time in the sun is a great way to get vitamin D, which is important for healthy bones and a strong immune system, and being at the beach can give you a sense of connection to the natural world, with the beauty of the ocean and the wildlife.
Ms. Holtzman wishes she could join in on a visit, “I am envious of these experiences and could only imagine the fun.” All in all, Bavaro Beach is an amazing place to stay, the variety of events to do is endless and the natural beauty and relaxation are all there. In the future, if you find yourself with the chance to travel the world, I highly recommend this beach and would not regret your decision!
