New school lunches just in time for the end of the year
By Luke Boylan
By 11:00 the kids at Burrell High School are starving. They are ready to go down to the cafeteria and devour some school lunches. BHS has gotten a new food service director, and the kids are hyped up. The new lunches served are jaw dropping. Who would ever thought of having chicken alfredo at school? When you think of school lunches, you think of chicken patties and hot dogs with some sort of whole grain bread and fruit that isn't even ripe.
But now, we have food that is good and tasteful. Chef Megan stated, “When you're a freshman your taste buds might not be the same as what they are as a senior. They change as you grow older, so you might like or dislike some new food. I have been working all my life with food my whole life, and I even got to cook for some celebrities. For example, George Bush Sr, Tiger Woods, Multiple Steeler legends.” What other school has their chef working with celebrities? Chef Megan said, “We are open to any suggestions for new lunch ideas, and we are getting ready for next year’s lunches.” Senior Colton Fenoglietto stated, “These new lunches make my day. I can't wait to walk down for lunch and see what new stuff they are serving.”
Burrell High school’s lunch is something new and on the come up.
